Sarah S. Brannen has illustrated a dozen books for children, including The Pig Scramble; Mathias Franey, Powder Monkey; The ABC Book of American Homes and Digging for Troy: From Homer to Hisarlik. She wrote and illustrated Uncle Bobby's Wedding. Forthcoming books include The Very Beary Tooth Fairy, written by Arthur Levine (Scholastic Press); Feathers, written by Melissa Stewart (Charlesbridge Publishing); At Home in Her Tomb (Charlesbridge) and The Ugly Duckling (Sterling Publishing).
According to the American Library Association, Uncle Bobby's Wedding was one of the ten most challenged books of 2008. Sarah speaks at conferences and schools about diversity and intellectual freedom, as well as the process of writing and illustrating for children. She is a regular contributor to Skating Magazine and icenetwork.com.
